Police: Redding Man Stabbed After Answering Knock On Door

A North Redding man was stabbed at his front door by a woman he says he had never met. Medics and Redding Police were called at 10:40PM Saturday night to an apartment complex on Boulder Creek Drive to find a 24-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his lower torso. He was transported to Mercy Medical Center and is expected to recover.  He told officers he had been inside his apartment when there was a knock at the door. He says when he opened it a woman he did not know addressed him by name and then stabbed him before fleeing on foot. He described her as a white woman around 30-years-old, 5-foot-5 and 165 pounds with white hair. Police searched the area with help from a CHP helicopter but the woman was not found.
