Young Arsonist Sentenced To 170 Days In Jail

A Red Bluff arsonist has been sentenced. 24-year-old Thomas Anthony Gniech was arrested July 3rd on Gilmore Road. A witness had watched as Gniech threw a stick that was on fire into the middle of a field of dry grass. He then sprayed lighter fluid to increase the intensity of the blaze. He repeated the act three times and caused multiple fires. The witness said the activity seemed to excite Gniech. He’s been convicted of felony attempted arson and sentenced to 170 days in jail, 80 hours community service and 5 years probation.
