Passenger Killed In Balls Ferry Crash Identified

A man killed in a crash just south of Anderson a few days ago has been identified by the Coroner’s Office. At 4:22am on Friday, a Toyota Camry was being driven way too fast on Balls Ferry Road near Panorama Point by 27-year-old Alexander James Kirby, according to the CHP. He lost control and the car left the pavement, colliding with a tree, a fence, a utility pole and the back end of a parked car. The passenger, 22-year-old Sean Kenneth Michael Binder of Redding, was ejected from the car during the crash and died of his injuries at the scene. Kirby was transported to a hospital and treated for his injuries, then booked into jail for felony driving under the influence of alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter.
