A Tehama County man has been sentenced for using his car as a weapon when he found his wife spending time with another man. 37-year-old German Aleman-Navarete became suspicious of his wife and thought she was lying about where she was going, so he followed her. He watched as she met a man at a restaurant and they sat down to eat. Navarete confronted them and beat on the man’s car with a metal pipe. The man managed to get into his car and fled, taking Navarete’s wife with him. Navarete pursued them and rammed his car into the other car multiple times. Convicted of two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, Navarete has been sentenced to 4 years in state prison.
