Pedestrian Injured After Pickup Hit Him In Shasta Lake

A Shasta Lake man was hit by a pickup truck Wednesday night. A little after 7:30PM a full size Dodge pickup driven by 76-year-old John Wieland was westbound on Pine Grove Avenue at the railroad overcrossing. An oncoming driver flashed their lights at Wieland to try to warn him of a pedestrian in the roadway. The flash momentarily blinded Weiland and when he came over the crest of the bridge 21-year-old Clarence McKee was in the middle of his lane. Wieland swerved but the passenger side of the truck hit McKee. He was transported to a hospital. The sheriff’s office is trying to figure out why he was in the middle of the road.
