A large controlled burn is planned for early next week in Tehama County. On Tuesday and Wednesday Cal-Fire is set to burn 1060 acres of Chaparral west of Red Bluff in the Colyear Springs area. The operation is intended to manage hazardous fuels, maintain existing firebreaks and enhance wildlife habitat. It’s part of the sunflower coordinated resource plan, involving multiple private landowners and public agencies.
