Residents Of The Cragview Water Area No Longer Need To Boil Their Water

A boil water order has been rescinded for some Northern Shasta County residents. Last Friday somebody ran their car into a fire hydrant that’s part of the Cragview Shasta County Service Area Number 23. A large leak resulted, draining the tank and part of the distribution system and causing the entire system to lose positive pressure. Repairs were made and the pressure was restored but the boil water order was issued because the system had to be considered possibly contaminated until testing proved otherwise. That testing has been done and the water is certified safe.
