Shasta County Inmate Involved In Fatal Attack At Sacramento Area Prison

Two inmates at Folsom’s maximum-security prison, including a man from Shasta County, are suspected to have killed a fellow inmate, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. 48-year-old Devlin Stringfell was assaulted by two men about 2:15PM Wednesday in one of California State Prison-Sacramento’s exercise yards. Stringfellow was taken to the prison’s medical clinic, where he was pronounced dead. Two weapons crafted by inmates were found at the scene. 29-year-old Jacob Kober and 49-year-old Stephen Dunckhurst have been identified as suspects. Dunckhurst was initially serving a three-year sentence for a Shasta County robbery, but now has a life sentence for vehicle theft and a weapons conviction.
