A 28-year-old man was shot in Johnson Park Tuesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office. At 2:23PM deputies were called to the area of Highway 299 and Saint Helena Street to check on a reports of shots fired. They found Richard Brian suffering from a gunshot wound. the suspected shooter was identified as 50-year-old Randall Jerome Landsem. Deputies went to Landsem’s home and after a brief standoff he was taken into custody. He was taken to the major crimes unit and then booked into the Shasta County Jail on attempted murder charges.
