Lake Shasta Hosting National Bass Tournament

A big national bass tournament returns this weekend to Lake Shasta for the third consecutive year. It’s called the “Wild West Bass Trail Super Clean Showdown on Shasta Pro/Am Bass Tournament”. More than 200 professional and amateur anglers will compete for a $100,000 prize pool. The Redding Convention and Visitors Bureau says that during last year’s tourney, anglers pumped more than $300,000 into the local economy during their stay. The competition runs this Friday through Sunday. Anglers will launch from Bridge Bay at 7 O’clock each morning and return at 3 O’clock for weigh-in. Only the top 10 pros and top ten amateurs will compete on Sunday.
