A Red Bluff man is going to prison for a hit-and-run. 26-year-old Jesse James Alaniz was driving when his car struck a bicyclist in Red Bluff. The victim smashed into the windshield and then rolled off onto the road, suffering serious injuries. Not only did Alaniz fail to stop and check on the victim’s condition, he didn’t even slow down. Afterward he boasted to multiple acquaintances about what he had done and when Red Bluff Police investigators questioned him, he confessed. Alaniz has been sentenced to 2 years in state prison.
