Washington Man Injured In High Speed Rollover

CHP officials in Siskiyou County say they don’t know why a man led them on a high-speed chase, and they can’t ask him yet because of the injuries he suffered in the resulting crash. Just before 3 O’clock Friday afternoon an officer tried to pull over a car traveling very fast on Southbound Interstate Five at the southern end of Yreka. The driver of the 2015 Honda Fit responded to the lights and siren by speeding up to 120 miles an hour in an attempt to get away. CHP Officers laid out a spike strip at the Abrams Lake overpass and it worked a bit too well as the compact car rolled over into the center divider north of North Mount Shasta Boulevard. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Washington State, was transported to Mercy Mount Shasta
