Update: Oregon Woman Arrested After Chase

A woman led Redding Police on a chase through East Redding Monday morning. The chase began at around 9AM on Highway 44 and continued south on Victor Avenue and eventually to Churn Creek Bottom and onto Commercial Way, which is a dead end but that did not deter the woman as she drove through several fields and ten fences to come out on Green Acres Way. Officers remained on the trail of the Honda until the small car squeezed through some gaps in fences that were too narrow for patrol cars. However, the chase was tracked from above by CHP Aircraft so RPD Officers were able to circle around and intercept the Honda. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Marlena Hines of Oregon, was caught trying to wade through Churn Creek. The car was apparently not stolen. Although some syringes were found, it’s still a mystery why she decided to flee from police..
