A Siskiyou County Jail inmate has made a plea deal after biting off part of the ear of a fellow inmate. On December 12th Gabriel Wayne Paxton got into a fight at the jail and inflicted the bite. The victim got quick medical attention and the portion of the ear was recovered, but doctors were unable to reattach it, leaving the victim permanently disfigured. Paxton had been jailed for violating his probation on a previous conviction for auto theft, identity theft, failure to appear and petty theft. After pleading guilty to mayhem, Paxton will be sentenced to an additional 12 years 4 months in state prison.
