The Red Bluff Bull and Gelding sale over the weekend was a huge success, but what really made a national buzz was a couple of stock dogs. Two female Border Collies sold for a record $30,000 each. The total for all of the 16 dogs at the auction was $143,500. 305 Bulls were sold at an average price of just under $4000, for a total of $1.2 Million. The top bull sold for $10,000. Two of the priciest Geldings sold for $30,000 each. The total for the Gelding sale was $771,000. The numbers from the sale, which is one of the nation’s premier livestock events, far eclipsed last year’s numbers.
