NPU Honored By Statewide Narcotics Association

Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit has been honored by a statewide organization for a really big day they had last Summer. Starting in June, the NPU had been busting heroin dealers and gathering information about their network of distribution. On August 16th officers did two searches on Boulder Creek Drive, arrested two dealers and seized 1.3 ounces of heroin. Another search warrant on Boulder Creek Drive led to another 6.4 grams of the drug, along with two stolen handguns. That bust led to an alleged major supplier, 40-year-old Christopher White the Second. Early the morning of August 17th a multi-agency sweep was done of the homes of 5 people believed to be upper-level distributors. Christopher White reportedly had over 7 pounds of heroin and almost a pound of cocaine.  Several ounces of heroin was seized from the other locations as well. the NPU says 7 pounds is the equivalent of 3175 doses. For their diligent investigation the team, led by the now-retired Sergeant Walt Bullington, has been given the 2017 Team Of The Year Award from the California Narcotics Officers Association.
