APD K9 Helps Capture Several Wanted Suspects

An Anderson Police K9 helped capture a few people Monday morning. At around 7:30AM a car was reported stolen. The victim called back at 9:45AM and said his car was abandoned on Jeffries Street near Pinon Avenue. While officers were on their way, someone drove away in the car, but the owner followed it and it stopped several blocks away at an apartment complex on Bruce Street. Three people got out and walked away, but one of them was still nearby when officers pulled up. Dylan Fravel was arrested for the theft, and for 3 outstanding warrants. When Chance the K9 got there he picked up a scent from the car and tracked it through the apartment complex to the A.C.I.D. Canal on the other side, where Dena Hammond was detained. She apparently admitted to being a passenger in the stolen car. Police somehow identified the third person as 27-year-old Benjamin Wallace of Cottonwood. He got away but a warrant will be issued for him. As officers were wrapping up that case, an anonymous caller reported that a wanted felon was hiding at a home on Jeffries Street. As officers approached they saw 35-year-old Daniel Patrick in the front yard. He retreated inside but when he was told that Chance might be coming in, he quickly surrendered. He had 5 warrants, 4 of them felonies.
