Update: Two Killed After Motorcycle Crash Sunday Afternoon

A motorcyclist who was killed in a crash west of Redding on Sunday has been identified, and his passenger has also died. At around 3:30PM Sunday afternoon a 2005 Harley Davidson was westbound on Keswick Dam Road west of Quartz Hill, driven by 33-year-old Jesse Quaid. 31-year-old Kristionna Quaid was his passenger. Jesse was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and laid the big bike down, according to the CHP. The motorcycle and both Jesse and Kristionna slid into the eastbound lane. Meanwhile, a Volkswagon Tiguan was coming the other way. The 41-year-old driver came around the corner and tried to swerve to the right to avoid hitting the motorcycle, but the SUV went right over the top of the Quaids, trapping both of them underneath. When rescue personnel extricated them from under the SUV, Jesse was already dead. Kristionna transported to Mercy Medical Center, and later died of with major injuries. The Volkswagon driver and her 8-year-old passenger were not injured.
