Car Thief Arrested For 3rd Time In 2018

Joshua Ellis has become very familiar with the booking process at the Shasta County Jail. The 26-year-old Redding man was arrested at 10:30PM Saturday night at Bobwhite Park, next to the water towers above Churn Creek and Browning. He was allegedly the driver of a Mercury Mountaineer that had been stolen from an elderly woman who had left her keys inside. It was the third time this year that Ellis has been arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Last year he was arrested 12 times. The collar was made by Officer Joanna Bland. The five year RPD veteran was recognized in a ceremony last Thursday as Redding Police Officer of The Year for 2017.
