Driver Sentenced To Prison For High Speed Chase

A 33-year-old Redding man is going to prison for leading a high speed chase through Red Bluff in a stolen car. On December 27th an off duty law enforcement officer called in to report a vehicle swerving in and out of traffic on Interstate 5 at more than 100 miles an hour. The driver was Christopher John Maretti, who then headed into Red Bluff, where Tehama County Deputies tried to pull him over near Raley’s on South Main Street. He sped off at speeds over 80 miles an hour through residential areas. When he finally stopped the car near Red Bluff River Park, he fled on foot but was soon captured. Maretti has been sentenced to 5 years in state prison.
