A Palo Cedro man is accused of setting fire to his own house. Cal-Fire and Shasta County Fire responded Saturday afternoon to a home on Whipple Tree Lane, off Swede Creek Road after a neighbor reported smoke and flames coming from the roof. Crews extinguished the fire, which caused an estimated $100,000 damage, and their investigation led them to conclude that the blaze had been intentionally set. 59-year-old Lee Charles Jasper, who lives at the home, was arrested for arson of an inhabited structure. He remains in jail on a Quarter-Million Dollars bail.
