Woman Arrested After Shooting At Neighbor

The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an Anderson woman who apparently shot a neighbor in the gut with a pellet gun. Just before 10 O’clock Friday night deputies were called to a home on Loop Street off Riverside at the northern edge of Anderson. Jason Goltz was suffering from a pellet gun shot to his abdomen. He said he had been outside his home when a woman he doesn’t know who lives nearby accused him of trespassing on her property and shot him with a pellet rifle. Goltz was transported to a hospital. An investigation led the sheriff’s office to identify the woman who shot him as 43-year-old Cynthia Ann Ramirez. On Sunday she heard from friends that the sheriff’s office was looking for her, so she called and agreed to meet with them. She was arrested and booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon. Anyone with information is urged to call 245-6540.
