Woman Who Forged Checks Sentenced To 4 Years In Prison

A Tehama County woman has been given a prison sentence for forging stolen checks. Although she wasn’t convicted of actually stealing mail, Cecelia Nancy Ramirez-Rojas somehow came into possession of stolen mail, from which she extracted other people’s checks. She altered the name of the recipient and the values of the checks and cashed them herself, pocketing more than $3000. Ramirez-Rojas has been convicted on two counts of forgery, maintaining a place where drugs are sold, and felony failure to appear. She’s been sentenced to 4 years in prison.
