Tehama County Man Sentenced To 14 Years

A man from Red Bluff has been given a combined sentence for two separate very serious crimes. 34-year-old Shane Michael Helm walked up to a woman at the Mobil gas station in Red Bluff and demanded her keys and wallet. When she refused, he put his hands in his pants and said he had a pistol. When she still refused to give him anything, he left empty handed. Helm was arrested a short time later and it was discovered that he did, in fact, have a gun in his pocket. The other offense was when helm was at a rural location and he convinced a woman to give him a ride to town to get gas. Along the way, he threatened the woman and forced her to perform a sex act on him. For both crimes, Helm has been sentenced to 14 years 8 months in state prison.
