BLM Rangers Find Body In Clear Creek West Of Redding

A dead man was found in Clear Creek west of Redding. At around midday BLM Rangers called the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office for help. They had been investigating after a locked vehicle was left parked for several days in the parking area for Clear Creek Gorge off of Clear Creek Road. The rangers had done a preliminary search of the immediate area and found some items in the woods belonging to the registered owner of the car. Sheriff’s deputies responded, along with a CHP helicopter volunteers from the search and rescue ground, mounted, mountain, bicycle and dive teams. At around 5 O’clock the deceased man was found in the creek. The coroners office will release the name after family is notified.
