Small Airplane Crashes In Northern Siskiyou County

An airplane crashed in Dorris Friday. Just before 11AM Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputies, CHP Officers and an ambulance rushed to Dorris Airport to find an upside-down plane. Sheriff’s Sergeant Abner Weed says the airplane had been in flight when it landed on its roof. He says it appears to have been caused by a combination of mechanical issues and wind conditions. The plane was damaged but the 53-year-old licensed pilot from Klamath Falls had been flying solo and was uninjured. Federal aviation authorities are investigating.
