Update: Man Suffers Burns In Early Morning House Fire

Redding Fire Department is still investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in North Redding early Monday morning. At around 4AM Redding Firefighters were dispatched to Deodar Way off Lake Boulevard and Keswick Dam Road. They found a double-wide mobile home that had many additions built onto it. It was fully involved in fire with flames spreading to a detached garage. The structure was not sturdy enough for an interior attack. When a firefighter tried to walk inside he fell through the floor, but he was uninjured. The three people who lived at the home got out but one of them suffered 2nd degree burns to the right shoulder and was treated at Mercy Hospital. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross. In addition to the home, the fire destroyed the garage and a carport, along with a boat, a pickup truck, and a lot of things that were being stored outside. The value of the loss is estimated at $250,000. The cause is under investigation.
