The Latest: Area Search & Rescue Teams Join Search For Missing Woman

At first light Tuesday morning the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office resumed their search in Eastern Shasta County for a woman who’s been missing since Friday afternoon. That’s when 71-year-old Lauralyn Palmer left to take her dog for a walk from her home on Cassel Fall River Road near Shoshoni Loop. Her husband reported her missing two hours later, saying she may be suffering from some early stages of dementia. Multiple Shasta County Search and Rescue teams have been joined by sheriff’s departments from Lake, Mendocino, Siskiyou and Butte Counties as they comb the wooded and rocky landscape. Lauralyn palmer is 5-Foot-2 and 140 pounds with gray hair, and she wears glasses. She was accompanied by a Queensland Heeler type cattle dog.
