Missing Woman’s Dog Returns Home

A woman who’s been missing from the Fall River Mills area has still not been found, but her dog returned home. Friday afternoon, 71-year-old Lauralyn Palmer left to take her dog for a walk from her home on Cassel Fall River Road near Shoshoni Loop. Her husband reported her missing two hours later, saying she may be suffering from some early stages of dementia. Multiple Shasta County Search and Rescue teams have been joined by sheriff’s departments from Lake, Mendocino, Siskiyou and Butte Counties in an intensive search effort that has been unsuccessful. The dog, a Queensland Heeler named Lucy, came home on her own at around Noon Tuesday. Lauralyn Palmer is 5-Foot-2 and 140 pounds with gray hair, and she wears glasses.
