Cal-Fire Urges Residents To Prepare For Bad Fire Season

The top brass for Cal-Fire and the other various coordinating agencies were at Redding Air Attack Base Wednesday with an urgent message for Wildfire Awareness Week. Weird weather has made the grass crop very abundant this year, making it more essential than ever for residents to clear their 100 feet of defensible space around their homes. Defensible space inspections are being done this week in high danger areas, including Shingletown, Happy Valley and Old Shasta. More information can be found at readyforwildfire.org.
