Crews Gain Containment On Early Season Wildfires

Cal-Fire crews have almost got a line around a fire that broke out last week in Siskiyou County. The Shastina Fire is burning west of Rancho Hills and Lake Shastina and north of Weed. It’s burned through 127 acres and is now 95% contained. Meanwhile the Grape Fire north of Hayfork, believed to be an escaped prescribed burn, is holding at 244 acres with 60% containment. The Forest Service says one injury occurred on the Grape Fire when a firefighter broke an ankle.
