The victim of a fatal traffic collision in Southern Trinity County has been identified.The victim of a fatal traffic collision in Southern Trinity County has been identified. The single vehicle crash happened on May 11th just before Midnight on Lower Mad River Road. The driver was already dead when CHP Officers, sheriff’s deputies and rescue personnel arrived. The cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma. The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that the dead man is 33-year-old Daniel Phelps. He was a resident of the Mad River Area.
