A man was shot in Churn Creek Bottom Tuesday night. Shortly after 6 O’clock, Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies and medical personnel were sent to a home on Green Acres Drive, where 29-year-old Thomas Crossland was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to the hospital. Witnesses reported that a man named “Chris” had fled in a gold Ford F-150 pickup. A search of the area was assisted by a CHP helicopter, which allowed the discovery of the truck nearby in the ACID Canal. It was unoccupied. A short distance away near the Sacramento River, Anderson Police located 38-year-old Christopher Brace and 42-year-old Jennifer Lecompte. They were taken into custody and Brace was booked into jail for the shooting. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
