Men Responsible For North Redding Fire Apparently Fled

A fire that burned a few acres of woods in North Redding on Saturday started with a vintage vehicle, according to a Redding fire investigator. A lot of smoke was visible from the blaze, located between Lake Boulevard, Interstate Five, and the Peppertree neighborhood. The fire was contained within about 30 minutes after burning almost 3 acres of brass and brush in the oak woodland. The origin was an old Jeep Willys that someone had been working on. The two men responsible left the Jeep behind and fled the scene.
