RPD Arrests Man Over 26 Times Since 2009

A man arrested in Redding on Saturday is what’s sometimes referred to by law enforcement as a “frequent flier”. An RPD Officer was reviewing surveillance video of a car break-in at a Redding hotel when he apparently recognized 25-year-old Spencer Taylor. Since 2009 he’s been booked into Shasta County Jail 32 times, including for trespassing, possession of stolen property, burglary, conspiracy, possession and sales of heroin, and being a felon with a gun. 26 of those arrests have been by the RPD. In July of 2016 Taylor was given probation and just 2 months later he was arrested for theft, then 10 days later for burglary and conspiracy, and 15 days after that for theft and prowling. Since being placed on probation, Taylor has had 18 arrests, 10 of them in just the past year. Saturday’s theft included a gun. Taylor was captured later in the afternoon and booked on 6 felony charges. So far, he remains behind bars.
