A 40-year-old man will be tried for murder for the stabbing of a man in Lakehead last year. In September 50-year-old Michael Douglas Graves was stabbed multiple times at the Shasta Pines RV Park on Solus Campground Road. He was taken to Mercy Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. 40-year-old Christopher David Murphey was found later that day near Yreka by the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office. At the time deputies reported that he had made statements that he wanted to kill himself and he had several self inflicted wounds. A preliminary hearing was held Tuesday and Murphey was ordered to stand trial. He’ll return to court July 16th.
