Part of the Clover Creek Preserve was evacuated Friday morning as Redding Police investigated a suspicious device. At about 7:45AM officers were called to the area of Shasta View Drive and Saturn Skyway after someone reported finding a suspicious device while walking on a trail in the Clover Creek Preserve. The device was found about 100 yards east of Shasta View Drive in the preserve and officers setup a perimeter. The Shasta County Bomb Squad was called and they determined the device was actually an ammo style box that had wires sticking out. Police say the ammo box was taken during a residential burglary nearby that occurred earlier in the day Friday.
