A homeless man suspected in an attempted murder has been captured by the Redding Police SWAT Team. 22-year-old Anthony Warren Chambers was being sought for allegedly shooting a man in South Redding June 18th. That’s when Redding Police Officers and medical personnel arrived at a home on Harrison Avenue to find 36-year-old Christopher Eugene Clark suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen. He was rushed to Mercy Medical Center for surgery to treat his life-threatening wounds. Witnesses identified Chambers the shooter. He was already wanted by Anderson Police for reportedly fleeing from them and discarding a gun along the way. Thursday afternoon RPD Investigators learned that Chambers was at a home on Thistle Lane, located off East Niles in Churn Creek Bottom. When they arrived with a search warrant, Chambers tried to run but was quickly captured and booked into jail on multiple felony charges.
