Man Who Attacked Guard Sentenced To Prison

A man who was being held in Tehama County Jail is going to prison for assaulting a guard. 48-year-old Daniel James Boyles repeatedly made a request to a correctional deputy and his request was repeatedly denied. Boyles became angry and attacked the deputy in an attempt to escape his holding cell. The guard got Boyles in a hold and in his attempt to break free from the hold, Boyles injured the guard. Boyles ended up getting hit twice with a taser while being subdued. For felony battery upon a custodial officer, Boyles has been sentenced to 7 years in state prison.
