Community Mourns a Fallen Hero

A local hero will be remembered next Saturday. Jeremy Stoke was a Fire Prevention Inspector for the Redding Fire Department. A public memorial service will be held Saturday August 11th at noon at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Jeremy Stoke died at the age of 37 last Friday when he got caught in the intensive firestorm of the Carr Incident. Stoke had been on vacation and eagerly came back to town early because he felt a need to help in the firefight. He leaves behind a wife, a 10-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old son, and all the Redding Firefighters who called him brother.
