Although the city of Redding has apparently had enough, the Carr Fire continues to expand to the north and west and continues to be a threat to Trinity County. On Saturday the winds shifted and French Gulch faced additional danger as the flames began to ignite unburned islands of vegetation that hadn’t burned on the first time through. A number of residents of the French Gulch area had decided to try and ride out the fire by sheltering in place but when activity picked up Saturday, those who did not heed the initial evacuation order were told to reevaluate their situation.
