PG&E Worker Killed In Carr Fire Evacuation Zone Identified

The Shasta County Coroners Office says the PG-&E worker who died in the Carr Fire restoration on Saturday was killed in a single vehicle crash. 21-year-old Jairus Maasa Ayeta was from Antelope in the Sacramento area. He was on an unpaved access road near Whiskeytown Lake when the collision happened. He suffered major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Ayeta was an apprentice lineman for PG&E and was working to restore electricity back to the fire zone. A gofundme account set up for his family has already raised $34,000 at gofundme.com/5x40meg . Other various gofundme relief accounts have raised more than one and a half million dollars with donations from all 50 states and 47 countries.
