Carr Fire Assistance Center Moves To Old K-Mart Building

The local assistance center at Shasta High School for people affected by the Carr Fire closed Wednesday evening. Starting Thursday a disaster recovery center will open at the south end of Hilltop Drive in the former K-Mart building. The center will be jointly operated by the California Office of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. It’ll be open seven days a week from 9AM to 7PM. People are encouraged to first register online at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362. The City of Redding and Shasta County have set up a website that batches together many of the local resources available at shastareddingrecovers.org.
