Although it’s surrounded by destruction and the burned remnants of former homes, the Shasta Union Elementary School in Old Shasta is intact, and they hope to start the school year on time or very close to it. The school did suffer some damage and will be assessed for restoration, so district staff is seeking a temporary location for the start of the school year. Parents are asked to contact the school for information at 243-1110.
