A man was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at approximately 10 people including several children Sunday night, according to Redding Police. Just after 8PM officers were called to the new Kahunas Mongolian Restaurant on Churn Creek Road in the Shasta Center to reports of a man brandishing a gun. The victims reported that the man had fled the scene. Officers spotted the suspects vehicle and conducted a high risk traffic stop on Hilltop Drive a short time later. 24-year-old Joshua Lewin was arrested and the 2 families identified him as the suspect. The families reported that Lewin pulled a handgun out of his waistband and pointed at them as he was reportedly assaulting his wife. Police say he threatened at least 10 people with the gun. Officers found a gun safe and a loaded magazine in his vehicle. Police are attempting to get a search warrant to open the safe because they were unable to gain access at the scene.
