Man Charged With Murder After Woman’s Burned Body Found

The Coroners Office has released the name of the woman who was found deceased in Eastern Shasta County where a wildfire had burned. She has been identified as 50-year-old Anna Louise Coker of Shingletown. Shasta County Sheriffs Deputies were called last Thursday to an area west of the Battle Creek Reservoir after someone found her body in a rock crevice near where a wildfire had burned. The body was badly burned and arson investigators have determined that Coker was not responsible for the nearby fire. On Saturday deputies arrested 48-year-old Frank Alexander Berry of Shingletown. He is believed to have been in a dating relationship with the woman for the past several weeks. He is currently being held in the Shasta County Jail on murder charges. His bail has been set at 2.5 Million Dollars.
