Two men were caught in the act just before attempting to yank an ATM machine loose of its moorings and steal it, according to Redding Police. At 2:35AM Wednesday morning officers responded to an alarm at the Wells Fargo ATM kiosk in the Food Maxx Shopping Center parking lot. When they arrived, officers saw the door was open and three people were walking out. When they saw the police the three took off running. 41-year-old Thomas Henderson and 32-year-old Michael Vandolah were found hiding inside a dumpster but the other person got away. The door to the kiosk had been pried open with burglary tools and a cable was attached to the ATM, with the other end attached to the suspects’ vehicle. Police are trying to determine the identity of the third suspect.
