Monday afternoon, a number of community leaders and local officials, as well as Congressman Doug LaMalfa attended the official ceremony announcing United Airlines’ plan to inaugurate air service between Redding and Los Angeles. The daily flights will be 7 days a week, starting March 8th. The flight times are designed primarily to accommodate business people traveling to Southern California. The 50 seat jet will leave Redding at 6:55AM and arrive at LAX at 8:35AM. The evening flight will depart Los Angeles at 7:10PM and be in Redding at 9:25PM. In addition to new airline service to Los Angeles starting March 8th, United Airlines is adding another flight to San Francisco starting next month . The 4th daily flight will depart Redding at 12:25PM beginning October 4th and will run Sunday through Friday.
