RPD Officer Rescues Woman From Burning Home

Redding Police Department is celebrating one of their officers for heroism and compassion. Darren Hull is the officer who arrived first at the house fire on Westside Road Tuesday morning. Smoke was pouring from the house and neighbors told Officer Hull that someone was still inside. He didn’t hesitate to rush inside, where he found an unconscious woman. After carrying her to safety, Hull performed first aid until fire and medical personnel arrived. The woman later was recovering from her smoke inhalation. That same afternoon an elderly deaf woman came into the Redding Police lobby, alone and confused. Officer Hull sat down with the woman and they wrote notes back and forth until he figured out how to get her home safe. Redding Police posted the story of Officer Hull’s long day on their Facebook page.
