NPU Makes Drug Arrest During Search In South Redding

Police raided a home in South Redding Tuesday afternoon as part of a drug investigation. 56-year-old Robert Dean Tophan had been suspected of drug dealing at his home on Cedars Road. Tophan had 23 prior arrests and had an active felony warrant for maintaining a place where drugs are sold. Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit served a search warrant at the home Tuesday. Commands were made for anyone inside to come out and when there was no response officers forced their way in. Tophan was there and a search reportedly turned up a significant quantity of methamphetamine, scales, and other evidence of sales. Tophan was booked into jail.
